Topwater Lures

Topwater lures deliver the most exciting style of predator fishing – strikes happen directly on the surface and are both visible and audible. Thanks to a wide variety of shapes and designs, they can realistically imitate panicking baitfish, frogs, or insects, provoking explosive surface attacks. They work best during warmer months, around reeds, cover, or in coastal saltwater areas, and reliably catch perch, asp, pike, trout, bass, and saltwater predators.

Retrieval techniques vary by lure type: poppers create loud splashes, walk-the-dog and slide lures glide side to side, frog and winged baits excel in heavy vegetation, and subtle sub-surface lures run just below the surface. Each style has its place, but all share one goal – to trigger an unforgettable surface strike.
