Trout Wobblers

Trout wobblers are specialized lures designed for fishing in current, where stability, control and precise lure handling are essential. Although the name primarily refers to trout, these wobblers are generally intended for river lure fishing and work extremely well for chub, grayling, perch, and in larger sizes also for sea trout and coastal predators.

The typical features of these wobblers are a slim or flat-sided body, higher weight and a sinking design, which allow precise control even in strong current. The lures hold their line, do not rise uncontrollably toward the surface, and respond instantly to twitching or changes in retrieve speed. They are ideal for technical fishing in main current seams, behind rocks, in pockets and deeper pools.

Main types of trout and river wobblers

Classic current minnows

  • Versatile sinking wobblers for fishing in main current, mountain streams and larger rivers. They offer stable action, precise twitch response and excellent control in fast water.

Larger river and “salmonid” wobblers

  • Wobblers intended for targeting large trout, char and other salmonids in rivers and still waters. Effective with slower retrieves as well as technical twitching.
