Treble Hooks and Stingers

Treble hooks are the standard rigging for hard baits, crankbaits, swimbaits, and other hard lures. The right model affects the hookset speed, fish-holding ability, and the overall action of the lure. A finer wire allows for very fast point penetration, while thicker treble hooks provide a greater strength reserve when fishing for large predators.

Stingers (trailer hooks) are mainly used with larger soft plastics or swimbaits. They help turn short or cautious strikes into a solid hookset and significantly increase the catch rate, for example, when fishing for zander or pike.

Treble Hooks for Hard Baits and Hard Lures

  • BKK Spear 21-SS – a versatile treble hook with a finer wire and very sharp points for a quick hookset.
  • BKK Spear 21-UVO – a variant with a UV coating for better lure visibility in deeper or murky water.
  • DECOY Treble Y-F33F – a technically highly refined versatile treble hook with rapid point penetration.
  • DECOY Treble Y-S25 – a lightweight treble hook ideal for smaller hard baits and light spinning.
  • DECOY Treble Y-S81 – a stronger treble hook for larger lures and aggressive retrieving.
  • DECOY Treble Y-W77 – a robust model with a wide gap, also suitable for saltwater fishing.
  • DECOY T-Treble T-S21 – a T-shaped treble hook with a wide gap and inwardly curved points, designed specifically for the belly eyes of hard baits and vibration lures.
  • DECOY Blade Treble Y-F33BT – a treble hook with a spinner blade that adds flash and vibration to the lure.

Tip: When replacing treble hooks on hard baits, it is advisable to keep a similar size and weight so as not to alter the lure's action. Finer treble hooks improve hookups on cautious strikes, while stronger models are suitable for targeting large predators or for saltwater fishing. The first four models (BKK Spear 21-SS, BKK Spear 21-UVO, DECOY Y-F33F, and DECOY Y-S25) are also highly suitable for making your own stingers for soft plastics.

Stingers and Assist Systems for Soft Plastics

Tip: For larger soft plastics, using a stinger can significantly increase the number of converted strikes – especially when fishing for zander or pike, which often attack only the rear part of the lure.
