Jerkbaits and minnow lures rank among the most effective options for catching zander, pike, asp, and large perch. How do they work?
Minnow lures have a subtle, linear movement, while jerkbaits react to rod twitches with sharp side darts. Most models are suspending, slow-sinking, or floating. They work best with a stop-and-go retrieve, where the lure remains in the desired depth zone — the exact moment when a fish strike often occurs.
