DECOY T‑3 Shrink Tube

DECOY T-3 Shrink Tube is a high-quality heat-shrink tubing designed for protecting and reinforcing the root section (tie-in) of assist hooks. When heated, the material shrinks evenly and grips the joint firmly, helping to protect the assist cord and the tie-in itself from abrasion and mechanical stress. The tubing is designed for easy handling—shrinks with heat, for example from a hair dryer; shrinking starts at temperatures above 90 °C and reaches the specified shrink ratio at approximately 115 °C.

In practice, DECOY T-3 Shrink Tube is used for making and modifying custom assist hooks, where you need to neatly cover and secure the root of the tie-in so the rig holds its shape better and withstands repeated loading for longer. It’s suitable wherever the assist hook works in contact with the lure and the connection is exposed to friction—typically when fine-tuning rigs and lure accessories. For gentle processing, shrinking with warm air is recommended; a direct flame will shrink the tubing, but it can unnecessarily heat-damage the assist cord and reduce its strength.
