Sawamura One Up Shad has long been regarded as one of the most respected Japanese soft lures, earning its reputation in both freshwater and saltwater fishing. The body of the One Up Shad is functionally split at the midpoint, similar to a two-piece hard bait, which results in instant response, strong vibrations, and a highly readable action with a pronounced wobbling and rolling movement. The material used is extremely soft yet resilient – instead of tearing easily, it tends to stretch under pressure or during the hookset, which in practice significantly extends the lure’s lifespan.

The bait is infused with the sweet Sawamura TRUMP scent, encouraging fish to hold on longer and improving hook-up ratios. Another signature feature is the randomly blended color patterns – within a single pack, it’s common not to find two lures that look exactly the same, making each piece unique. Thanks to its fuller, wider profile, the One Up Shad displaces a strong amount of water and is ideal for fishing on a jig head, offset hook, Texas and Carolina rigs, or even weightless, where its distinctive action truly stands out.
