Offset Hooks

Offset hooks are the foundation of Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, no-sinker presentations and most weedless setups. The hook point is hidden inside the lure, allowing you to fish in rocks, branches and vegetation without frequent snagging. Choosing the right shape is important: narrow for slim lures, wide for bulkier soft plastics, and weighted versions when you need more stable lure action and better depth control.

Tip for choosing the right size: With offset hooks it is often better to choose a slightly larger size so the lure can slide down the hook point during the strike. Narrow shapes work best with slim lures, wide versions with bulkier soft plastics, and if you need more stable lure action without additional weight on the line, a weighted offset is the best choice.
