Soft Baits

How to choose soft plastic lures?

Soft plastic lures come in many shapes and types, each suited to different fishing situations. To make your choice easier, we have divided them into several basic groups. Detailed descriptions of each group can be found directly in the individual categories.

  • Shads & Swimbaits: These lures imitate a naturally swimming baitfish, which is ideal prey for most predators. Thanks to their realistic action created by a wobbling tail, they work effectively all year round. Their ease of use makes them perfect for both beginners and experienced anglers. We recommend starting with these, as in many cases there is no need to use other lure types.
  • Twisters: Unlike shads, twisters feature a long, curled tail that creates very lively movement in the water. They are effective even at very slow retrieve speeds and are easy to use. They have also proven excellent as trailers for chatterbaits and spinnerbaits.
  • Craws & Creatures: An ideal choice when fish are not responding to baitfish imitations or when there is an abundance of similar natural prey in the water. Excellent for slow presentations during colder months using techniques such as the Carolina rig or drop shot. They can also be used as trailers for chatterbaits and skirted jigs. Frogs rigged on offset hooks are perfect for fishing in heavy vegetation.
  • Worms: With their soft bodies that realistically imitate the movement of live worms, these lures are extremely effective in colder conditions. They are ideal for weightless hook presentations using rigs such as Wacky and Neko. They also work great for drop shot fishing or more aggressive presentations with small jig heads or cheburashka rigs.
  • Jerkbaits & Stickbaits: Stickbaits can be rigged on offset hooks and used similarly to jerkbaits—perfect for twitching and fishing in vegetation. Stick worms are slightly firmer than classic worms and are most flexible in the tail section. Both lure types excel in vertical fishing and techniques such as drop shot or fishing with short jig heads. They are also commonly used as trailers for chatterbaits.
  • Micro Softbaits: As the name suggests, these lures are designed for ultralight fishing for smaller predators and for trout fishing in lakes. They are often scented, for example with cheese aroma, which significantly increases their attractiveness.
