Fluorocarbons

Fluorocarbon leaders create an invisible connection between the main braided line and the lure. Thanks to a refractive index very similar to water, they do not attract the attention of cautious predators, and their higher density ensures they cut through the water column quickly. These materials excel in high abrasion resistance, which is crucial when in contact with rocks, mussel beds, or submerged timber.

When selecting a leader, the key factors are the target fish species and the line diameter. Universal models provide a reliable compromise between strength and suppleness, while special versions utilize advanced camouflage for extremely clear water, or use specific colors for better visual control over the rig.

Universal fluorocarbons

  • Sunline Fluorocarbon Siglon FC 50 m – a reliable 100% fluorocarbon with a balanced ratio of strength and softness. Resin processing technology ensures zero water absorption and broad usability, ranging from finesse fishing to fishing for pike and strong saltwater predators.

Special and camouflage leaders

  • Sunline Fluorocarbon Small Game Leader SV-1 30 m – a leader for light spinning with a pink color, which is highly visible above the water, yet invisible to fish. It facilitates the detection of subtle bites and tying knots in the dark, excellent for micro jigging and trout or perch fishing.
  • Sunline Shooter FC Sniper Invisible 75 m – a premium fluorocarbon line using an alternation of five natural shades to perfectly break up its silhouette. It represents the ideal solution for sight-fishing and targeting highly cautious fish in perfectly clear water.

Tip: For finesse trout and perch fishing, choose diameters up to 0.20 mm; for zander, 0.30–0.35 mm is suitable. As an ideal compromise for waters with occasional pike presence, a diameter of 0.45 mm has proven effective, as it does not restrict the action of smaller lures, while for targeted pike fishing, go straight for a 0.60 mm diameter or thicker, making sure to carefully inspect the leader after catching every toothy predator.
